"To engage and lead faith communities in Northern Virginia to improve the social condition, dignity, and economic health of those in need among us, and to be an advocate for them."

Caring Mentors Program
CM has a strong history of joining with local congregations and other community partners to address human service needs.
Our most recent success was Caring Mentors, a one-year, faith-based mentoring program that we piloted in the City of Alexandria. CM recruited, screened, and trained mentors, matched mentors with children from public housing, and provided ongoing support for all of the program participants.
CM also hired a part-time case manager to help manage the program on a weekly basis, which took place at the Boys and Girls Club and the YMCA. Given CM's belief in faith-based mentoring as a way to advocate for children, we hope to partner with area faith communities to repeat the success of Caring Mentors in 2003.
