 Faith Communities Can Provide          Mentoring & Support for Families
Community Ministry and Interfaith Housing Ministries (IHM) are available to assist Faith Communities to begin to provide mentoring
 and support for families who are homeless
or at risk of becoming homeless.   
  "Partnership for Permanent Housing" (PPH)
is a joint effort of the Fairfax County
Department of Family Services and the
Department of Housing and Community
Development.

Community Ministry enables churches and individuals to provide housing assistance to low income families by teaming with Good Shepherd Housing and Family Services Agency.  More...
Advocacy to Impact Policies Affecting Low Income and Vulnerable Families and Individuals
Community Ministry educates and advocates to public officials and community organizations on behalf of those low income and vulnerable families and individuals who need a voice.

How Can a Faith Community or Individual Get Involved?
  1. Congregation provides monthly financial housing assistance to an family/individual through CM’s joint effort with Good Shepard Housing & Family Services Learn More
  2. Congregations provide financial support to Community Ministry and designate contact or liaison. Learn More
  3. Individual becomes a “faithful landlord” and agrees to rent to holders of Section 8 housing certificate. Learn More
  4. Congregation conducts Housing and Faithful Landlords Awareness and Educational program. Learn More
  5. Individuals or church service & mission board volunteers to assist with public educational and advocacy programs related to policies affecting low income and vulnerable families and individuals. Learn More
