"To engage and lead faith communities in Northern Virginia to improve the social condition, dignity, and economic health of those in need among us, and to be an advocate for them."

Community Ministry of Northern Virginia is a joint effort of many denominations, congregations and individuals of faith. It provides a means for people of faith to share their common cause of concern for those in need. It is a volunteer effort whose activities and administration is directed by a board of directors representing local congregations in northern Virginia many of whom are members of their congregation’s outreach and community service boards.
Individual congregations are asked to designate an individual as the liaison to Community Ministry and, if they chose, to nominate a member to the board of directors.
Financial support for the administrative expenses of Community Ministry, a private non-profit organization, is needed to maintain a small office and provide a network of communication among member congregations. That includes a web site and periodically informing member churches of advocacy opportunities and direct services programs including the Faithful Landlords program.
Congregations and individuals who wish to participate in and support the activities of Community Ministry should contact any member of the Board of Directors of Community Minis try by phone or email.
